-Graduated to every six months scans with blood work still every three.
-Port removal July 2nd after 17 months of no evidence of disease (NED) Shouldn’t I claim being Cancer Free?
-Blood work 9/27. CEA tumor marker results right away 1.1 (normal is 3.0 or less) My lowest one yet. We are ecstatic!!
-Saturday, 10/07 Signatera results are in. I open the email expecting NEGATIVE once again (especially after just receiving my lowest CEA) but the results show POSITIVE.
Our hearts sink 🙁
What is a signatera test?
Signatera is a new blood test that can identify molecular residual disease (MRD), or recurrent cancer, sooner than existing methods by detecting the presence of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA). Signatera is a custom-designed test that is generated based on each patient’s unique set of tumor mutations.
What does a POSITIVE result mean?
A positive Signatera test result indicates that tumor DNA has been detected in your blood.
What now??? Well, you know me. I was/am devastated, but still kick everything into high gear! I am determined that this will be just a hiccup! 💙💪🏻

Tuesday Scans in Tampa/Moffitt
Now we wait for results and upcoming appointments with Medical oncology and my expected liver follow up. We will go from there. In the meantime, I will work at building my immune system to kill the cancer for me!!
Thank you to everyone who loves and supports me. It means the world. Let’s change the prayer from “clear scans” to “disease free”. That’s really what I need. Thank you to Andy for taking the day off to be with me for scans (Yes, Andy took off work! 😂). Not my usual funny post, but these are unusual times. If you haven’t gotten your colonoscopy yet, what you waiting for? 💙💙💙

I am disappointed for you, Angela. That is certainly a difficult discovery to bear. I am impressed that this test can detect C at such a molecular level so that you can once ahead be able to prepare and, if necessary, fight with every ounce of your being and muster all the spiritual energy around you. You know I’ll be praying for you!
