I’m really not sure! It’s interesting how this whirlwind feels both ways at once!
I finally have my CT scans scheduled for March 23rd back at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. As you know, this feels like too slow! (I expected them on March 3rd!) That same day, I am also scheduled to have blood work and preop anesthesia appointments.
My Surgery to remove the primary tumor in my sigmoid colon will be March 30th!!!! This feels fast!! At my last set of (scanless) appointments, they were clear it would be April and most likely the latter half before my surgery could be scheduled. I just wrapped my brain around accepting this time line and BOOM here we are!
The back fill…During my last visit with Dr. Felder, my colon surgeon, I did hard core lobbying that sooner must be better, that visually I am ready, that I’m walking 3-5 miles a day, that being off of chemo freaks me out! He assured me waiting would be fine. Despite this, it seems I have gotten what I wished for with an early surgery date! My daughter, Tiffani, says it is a sign. March 30th happens to also be my dad’s birthday. We lost him August 2021. Surely he is flying around with his Angel wings and making this happen!?!?! 😇
Pray for me!! Pray that my scans on 03/23 only show “good” surprises, that nothing blocks my surgery from moving forward, that all cancer is removed from my body!! I so appreciate each and every one of you! Every single prayer, hug, text, call, email, card matters! Your support inspires me to continue moving forward and to stay positive!! Don’t forget about me! 💕💕
March is colorectal cancer awareness month. Please GET YOUR COLONOSCOPY!! STOP WAITING!!!I am so proud to hear from those of you that already have. Let’s take it a step further! Remind a family member, a neighbor or a coworker to schedule their colonoscopy and that it can happen to anyone!! I am proof!! My story isn’t a secret. Feel free to share it if you think it could save someone!
