It’s been awhile since I posted an update. Hope you haven’t missed me too much 😉 My chemo #6 on Sept 8th went smoothly and there really wasn’t anything notable. It was same as usual, but by myself due to Covid guidelines.
The surgeon here in Jupiter, Dr Bhagwandin, reviewed my CT scans from the last trip to Moffitt Cancer Center (Aug 16) . He reviewed them and has some ideas which he wanted to see me to discuss. We scheduled to go in on Sept 14 to just see what he had to say. We welcome all opinions. It was a TON of information. Andy and I are still processing. Ultimately the different possibilities for surgery. One hiccup, he noticed something on my left ovary. Agreed that he would present my case at Tumor Board (where the entire team including the radiologist discuss my entire case and all possibilities). Also ordered a PET scan to rule out the ovary involvement and to see what’s changed.
I had the PET scheduled for this past Monday and a follow up with Dr Bhagwandin on Friday which will be after their tumor board meeting in the morning. Should have a lot of info then!
I proudly went ahead with my chemo as planned today. My blood work show that my cea, which is a tumor marker in your blood, decreased from 197 to 39!!!! (Normal is 3.0 or less) It’s a win. Met with my medical oncologist and reviewed the PET results. Also a win. Not only are my tumors continuing to shrink their uptake of the glucose has reduced also!! Please continue to pray that ALL cancer will leave my body and that all doctors caring for me are being blessed as tools in my recovery. We will get a second opinion at Moffitt Cancer Center so please also pray that I can understand, sort, and make decisions from all of the data I will be given. It’s a lot.
I continue to choose to fight each day. To take one step forward in the right direction. I’m trying to live as normally as possible (even when I’m not feeling well). I know I have been knocked down so much this year. Just know whatever it is, I will keep getting up. Please do not be afraid to text me or email me or send me something in the mail or call me. I really do enjoy the communication. I just ask that you’re not upset if I don’t reply timely that’s really the only difference but I love hearing from everyone. I hope that each of you and your families are doing well and are happy 😃 Happiness should always be today. 🌸
